Squatters in London by Pablo Blazquez

In London, there are thousands of homeless people and an estimated number of 600 rough sleepers, in contrast with 91219 empty properties.
For many of this people squatting has become the solution to have a better life.

This project shows the life of a very ethnically diverse group of squatters. Many of them, were rough sleepers previously, others lost their accommodations and some joined because of not having any other choices to support their studies, art‘s career or way of life.

The fact that they live in a hugely consuming city, they use it as an advantage and try to reuse and recycle anything this town has already considered as useless or valueless.

During the process of this documentary, they were evicted from several houses after the owners argued on Court a planning project to use the properties.
Still today, all these properties remain empties and now they have returned to live at one of them
