Cuban Propaganda

It is almost 50 years since Fidel Castro took power in 1959. But when Fidel Castro named his brother Raul Castro as Cuba's interim leader on July 31 2006, rumors of Fidel Castro's poor health thrived. In December, after examining Fidel Castro, a Spanish doctor declared that the Cuban leader “doesn't have cancer and is recovering slowly from a serious operation in July”. Around 60% of the Cuban population does not know any ruling leader other than Castro and many suggest that the era of the longest ruling leader in the world is already passing.

This set of pictures focuses on the Cuban billboards. Posters and billboards are still a colorful and effective means to convey a message to the population; There are not many billboards in Cuba, but the ones they have, send very different messages than those in the western world.
